Five instructors will be teaching a self defense course for women Monday
14th Dec. 2009 at Capt Dave's "Bad Boys Beach Bar" on the beach between 2nd Y 4th Calles from 11:00 am to 3:30 pm.
The
course will begin with a light stretching and warm up by Lori Jindra. Lori is a
40 and over class-Figure/Bodybuilding Champion, she will also be one of the
instructors. This will be followed with defensive techniques demonstrations and
practice. This is a positive and empowering beginning level class for women
ages 21 to 101.
The Lead instructor will be Detective Sgt. Jeff Jindra, a Minneapolis Police
officer. Jeff is a S.P.E.A.R System certified Defensive Tactics Instructor and
former Thai fighter. Jeff will be assisted by Tony Head of the Luna Blue Hotel
here in Playa. Tony is a black belt instructor certified by the American
Teachers Association of Martial Arts (ATAMA). Fire Chief Brian Borjesson will
also assist in this training. He has been working with the training of Q. Roo
Police officers and SWAT teams since 2002. Great news! We will have a 5th
instructor join us, the head training officer of the Playa Del Carmen Police
dept., Angel Ortiz. Angel was schooled in CN. 2 DAN, Aikido – Iaido. Angel has
been training the police here in Playa for 5 years. I look forward to working
with Lori and these 3 men. This will be a unique and informative opportunity
