Peanut Pet Shelter in Playa del Carmen
Peanut Pet Shelter to Celebrate Their First Year in Playa del Carmen!

The Peanut Pet Shelter will be celebrating their first year of operation on the 15th of June and what an impact they have made in our community! They have rescued and re-homed hundreds of dogs and cats, and there aren’t enough dog kisses in the world to show them how much we appreciate all that they have done for our community.

We, at Playa Maya News, have brought a handful of wayward animals to their doorstep over the past year, and although they have all had an incredible impact on our hearts, we thought that our house was too full to welcome another four legged friend into our hearts and home. That was of course until we met Derby. Derby is approximately 10 weeks old, and from what we can tell she is a mix of an Australian Shepherd and possibly a German Shepherd. She is so sweet with her floppy ears, and non-existent tail, and when we met her we knew she had to be added to our brood. With 2 large, male Australian Shepherd’s already living with us, we weren’t sure how this little speck of a dog would fit in. But she has been with us for only a few days, and she is already a member of our furry family. She chases the cats, wants to play with our boys (they won’t have it), eats with ever growing enthusiasm, and chews things with wild abandon.

Thank you Andy and Jen for introducing us to our newest baby! Please become a part of this great community effort, and create your own success stories by adopting a pet, or if you are unable to adopt please consider making a donation . If we work together we can make a change in the lives of countless animals that are left by the wayside in the streets of Playa del Carmen!
