Well, it is that time of year when the local fire department (Los Bomberos) has its annual training academy, and with that comes the 3 legged race and bar hop to help raise frunds for the Bomberos. Whether you decide to participate as a team or if you just want to witness the hilarity of the event please read below for more detials and informaiton.

The annual 3-legged race Bomberos fundraiser will take place on the 22^nd of March, and the race begins at 7:00 PM and leaves from La Rana Cansada located on 10^th Street between 5^th and 10^th Avenues.

Registered teams must be tied together by the ankles and run to each participating bar and consume either a shot of tequila or a beer. Each bar has a designated witness and they must sign your sheet at each bar .You may go to the bars in any order you want, but you must go to all of them and get the signatures from each bar. After you have gone to the final bar you will return to La Rana Cansada for your official time.

Participating teams need to find sponsors to cover the cost of drinks and donations to Los Bomberos. There is a minimum $600 pesos per team registration fee, and part of the $600 pesos donation will go to cover the drinks;$400 per team and $200 to the Bomberos Academy VII .Try to get as many sponsors as you can as the more money the better.! Funds to be used to rent vans for instructors and participants of the Academy VII.

For the first time in 3-legged Bar Hop history I, Sara "The Editor" Moen will be teaming up with Playa Info's Heather Andersen for what is sure to be a night to remember. We have gotten a special dispensation due to the fact that Heather is in a cast, so we will be running the race in a wheelchair with me behind the wheel as I careen Heather through the streets of Playa del Carmen. As is par for the course, we will be wearing some sort of interesting costume. If you can come out to see what we're planning this year, I'm sure you won't be disappointed!
