Pets being poisoned in Phase 1!

To the Community of Playacar Phase I and Playa del Carmem.

A few weeks ago, on July 13, an unknown person placed poisoned food in strategic and very located areas in Playacar Phase I. Three dogs and at least 4 cats were cruelly poisoned.

They were domestic and harmless, and were very loved by their owners, and by other neighbors as well, civilized people who love animals and respect the right of others to live in peace. It was a painful and merciless death, an agony only desirable to the person who committed it, which the veterinarian could not avoid.

The poison was placed at the end of Coral Negro Street, 150 meters from the third ruin.The poison was so strong that one of the dogs died only from smelling it.

Because it is highly toxic, this deadly poison is dangerous to people, especially to children, who are always close to their pets and can be easily contaminated. It is also hazardous to the environment and to public health, because with rain water it filters through the aquifer where we extract the water we use in Playa del Carmen.It is also a threat to other fauna, like the Aguti, the iguanas, lizards, birds, and other species that live and give life to the neighborhood.

We disapprove of these cruel acts.

We demand the management board of Playacar to attend this serious matter, which infringes the minimum rules of community life and respect to others. We also demand that necessary measures be taken to locate the guilty person, and to make sure these cruel acts will never happen again.

We are convinced that the person who committed the act is a resident in Playacar, and he should de exposed to the law. If you have a pet or are an animal-lover, we invite you to join us in rejecting these acts of cruelty which demerit the reputation of Playacar Phase I.

We also invite you to spread this protest around, and to join us in the noble cause in defense of the flora and fauna of Playacar and that community life be respected.
