Angel Notion needs the support of the community.
Recently we recieved an e-mail from the director of Angel Notion sharing some disturbing news about some very special children in Cozumel. Below is further information and details on how and whom you can help. Please be aware that the information is highly sensitive and disturbing. But without getting this information to as many people as we can we won't be able to instigate change.

October 2005: Hurricane Stan passed through the town of Columbia in the State of Chiapas, located Southwest of Playa del Carmen approixmately 20 hours. It was not a highly publicized Hurricane, but it was the most deadly of the season; over 2000 people died. Electricity and Phones are getting back online
Electricity and Phones are reported back on in some parts of Playa del Carmen. Internet access is intermittent. Expect it to go on and off as they make the adjustments.
5th Avenue in the heart of Playa del Carmen reports minor damage to small stores. Resorts faired very well. No major damages reported! We have awesome hotels here.
Most of the damages are in the city to small stores with broken glass, bent signs....basically it looks horrible because the all of the signs all over the place.
On the road from Tulum to Playa del Carmen, turned over trucks, loose cables from downed poles. Two Pemex gas stations in the corridor are in terrible shape........

Playa del Carmen Hurricane Emily 9:23am Tuesday Things getting better |

UPDATE
9:23am Tuesday
All the electricity, phones, and communications in the Riviera Maya are still down. So for all of you reading this around the world and who have family, relatives, friends, or colleagues in this area, please be patient and hang in there.
Our area residents are working as fast as they can to get communications back online so we can connect again. All indications are that things should be back up within 72 hours. But don’t hold us to that………just hang in there and know it’s a work in progress.
We can tell you that while there are trees down, debris in the streets, and lots of water........there are NO reports of widespread injuries or worse.........
