Friends of AK Lu'um- a new organization dedicated to education in the Riviera Maya.

Friends of Ak Lu’um is a new organization, based out of Playa del Carmen,  that will be offering educational scholarships to Mexican Nationals that otherwise would not have an opportunity at a quality education.  Promoting holistic education, Friends of Ak Lu’um is working in cooperation with the Ak Lu'um International School, the first ecological school in the Yucatan, that follows a humanistic, Anthroposophical approach to education. Friends of Ak Lu’um are currently applying for non-profit status in the United States to open up further opportunities for fundraising in the United States, and they will be hosting their first fundraiser on February 20th, 2010; Amore! A night filled with fun, friends, and food……

Amore! Is brought to you by the Friends of Ak Lu’um in cooperation with La Piola Restaurant in Playa del Carmen.

When: February 20th, 2010 at 7:00 PM
Where: La Piola Restaurant located on 38th Street between 5th Avenue and the beach.
Why: All net proceeds will go directly to the Friends of Ak Lu’um to help pay for the costs of developing non-profit status in the United States; a costly and laborious process!!
Cost: The ticket cost is $350.00 pesos per person, and all tickets are pre-sale. The cost includes: a choice of a beverage-wine, basil martini, or soft drinks, an appetizer, salad, pasta OR pizza, and a dessert. Tip included in the ticket price. To view the full menu click here .
