Vidas, a non-profit based out of The United States, have a team of veterinarians coming to Playa del Carmen to hold a spay and neuter clinic for the animals in our community.The clinic will be held at a school in El Colosio, and here is the basic information you will need in order to bring your animals in for surgery or sterilization...

Please note that the clinics will open at 8:30 AM each morning and they will accept animals for surgery each day until 11:00 AM. Animals will need to be picked up the same day between 3 and 5 PM. They will tell you the specific time you should come to pick up your animal when you drop them off in the morning. PLEASE TELL ANYONE YOU KNOW IN NEED! The clinic will be held August 9th through the 13th. August 13th may not be a full day. So encourage the 9th through the 12th if they want to be certain to get their animal fixed.

The clinic is solely for sterilization, and not for people to get free random treatments.Vidas come to Playa del Carmen once a year for this clinic, and they also go to others areas of Mexico at intermittent times through out the year. In addition to the clinic they will have educational classes for children during the clinic day (usually about 1 hour) - teaching them safety and proper care for animals. Last year, all the neighborhood kids came and seemed to love it and learn quite a bit. So if you know of an animal in need of sterilization please bring them to the clinic and make a difference! Or just come down and say hi and say thank you to the wonderful crew that is making a difference in our community!
