Eco Expo in Playa del Carmen Had a Tremendous Turnout PDF Print E-mail

The Eco Expo in Playa del Carmen 2008The Eco Expo was held this past weekend at the Coffee Café in Playa del Carmen, and it was a smashing success!

Thirty three local businesses participated in the first "Green" Expo in Playa del Carmen, and the community came out in full force to support them. From alternative energy sources, to local organic food products the spectrum of local businesses that offer ecologically sound practices was impressive.

We have incorporated a "Green Guide" into Playa Maya News for people to explore the different options and ways they can utilize these progressive local businesses to help lessen the carbon footprint in one of the most beautiful, and unique environments; the Riviera Maya. By taking part and supporting these efforts we can make a difference in our community to insure that we keep our beaches, jungles, and underground river systems clean for generations to come.

The first ECO EXPO 2008 was great. I had the chance to meet other people that shares with me the idea of have a business that cares about the planet. Hope to see you next year!
