| Angel Notion Goes to Lancing Michigan |

Moises is having quite the adventure! Thanks to Angel Notion and all of their supporters! Moises and Dr. Ricardo Salazar and I (Lavonna) arrived in Lancing, Michigan on October 1st, 2006. Moises experienced his first flight .... he said: " The take off was fea" ,meaning ugly in a literal translation, and the landing was: “padre", which is slang for awesome. We arrived and were met by Jim and Jill Fedawa, and their daughter Beth, where we would make our home for the time that we were in Michigan. Jim and his daughter Beth ( who is fluent in Spanish) were in Paamul for lunch; while in the area to construct a new home near Puerto Morelos. Jim is a retired GM worker and was very impressed by Moises and his condition. As he and his daughter were leaving Paamul Jim said : " I’d sure like to help that young man" but the obvious question was how?
Jim and Jill are wonderful people and in these past few weeks have learned a lot more Spanish trying to communicate with Moises. They have now “adopted” Moises as their son they never had, and Moises now has a "dad" that he is close to.... so incredible how things work out.

They went
on their way and headed back to Lancing, Michigan.
Jim is very excited about their home in the Playa del Carmen area, and is doing
all he can to investigate the community. So he found Playa Maya News, along
with other popular area sites, while researching on the internet. To his
surprise Moises photo popped up, and as he looked further into the
needs for Moises he saw that Moises would be traveling to Lancing,
Michigan and was in need of lodging... and that is where it all started.
Moises surgery hadn't been done as of Friday the 13th due to Dr. Poletes
schedule, but just this past Monday they have scheduled the surgery for October
23rd.
Dr. Ricardo Salazar, a maxo-facial surgeon in Playa del Carmen who is
also the co- director at the Clinica Nic Te Ha, has had an amazing experience
of being able to see patients with our Michigan state Doctor, Dr. Duane Smith.
He has participated in cleft palate clinics with the university and is
participating in surgeries, and learning new technologies and treatments to
bring home to serve more people in his specialty. He received a pass to the MSU
libraries to do research and investigate information that isn’t available to
him in Playa del Carmen, what an amazing learning experience!
