Latido de Mexico in Playa del Carmen

New business in Playa del Carmen offers courses in First Aid, CPR, and AED use.

Latido de Mexico, meaning “Heartbeat of Mexico” is Playa del Carmen’s first independent company dedicated to training of CPR, First Aid and AED* use. An AED is a machine that analyzes the heart rhythm and, if necessary, tells the user to deliver a shock to a casualty of SCA. The shock, called defibrillation, helps the heart to re-establish an effective heart beat rhythm. With this technology the survival rate can increase from 4-8% using CPR alone to up to 73% by using an AED!

Did you know…
  • Many individuals do not know what to do in case of emergency. Do you?
  • The home is where many common accidents can be both prevented and treated if they happen
  • Sudden cardiac arrest or more widely known as a HEART ATTACK, is one of the leading causes of death around the world?
  • Survivors of sudden cardiac arrest usually have four things in common:
  1. Someone witnessed the event, recognized the emergency, decided to help, called 911 or local emergency number * Playa del Carmen, and most of surrounding area’s emergency phone number is 066
  2. Someone started CPR immediately
  3. Someone arrived quickly with a defibrillator to shock the heart back into a healthier rhythm
  4. Professional emergency medical services personnel provided advanced life support, including airway and breathing support and medications
In other words, in the ideal situation, there is a strong community and chain of Survival. It is important to have the skills needed to handle emergencies as without oxygen, permanent brain damage can take place within 4 to 6 minutes. Learn the skills needed while you are waiting for more advanced help.

The good news is…
  • Almost anyone can learn how to do CPR and use an AED!

  • By training for 8 to 12 hours you can learn how to do CPR, use an AED, bandaging, perform artificial rescue breathing, and so many more skills for dealing with both minor and major emergencies.
There is worldwide recognition that CPR and First Aid training can save lives. Mexico is close to following suit; looking at making training a requirement in many businesses and occupations.Owners, Monica Hartlief and Susan de Lima are both certified Emergency First Response instructors who have over 15 years experience teaching and training individuals.Using state of the art equipment, they offer a complete certification and re-certification plan, a line of first aid products as well as AED sales and service.
