Hot Market Continues
Spending up in 1st Quarter 04, better than expected, but will the momentum hold? Shawn Bandick, partner at One Stop Real Estate – a retail real estate brokerage – says “January started slow and it picked up significantly throughout February and March. In the next quarter, we expect a lot of people coming that are preparing to open up business to meet market demands for the fall. For the remainder of , we feel it will be booming. With so many new developments completing and coming to market – from condos to commercial projects, the market will have lots of product to satisfy the new demand.” "Wow, wow, wow," said Maria Cortez Chavez, General Sales Manager of VW Playa del Carmen, when asked about the future of the market. “We’ve invested in Playa because we know and see the future demand growing. We are excited about 2004.” she said On the ocean, Skipper Fat Cat Jez who operates Fat Cat Sailing Tours says “Business for the 1st Quarter 2004 has been brilliant. 2003 was our best year and we expect 2004 to break the record. Simply Brilliant!” Peter Muller, owner of Hotel Eclispe and a 16 year resident of Playa del Carmen who is now referred to as El Alemaya (The German Mayan) says " Business was better than the last 2 years. Up! I expect business to be up another 15% for the rest of 2004." Lic. Antonio Tadeo, Sales Manager at NISSAN AutoSur of Playa del Carmen says “We are moving fast – so fast – we’ve had to remodel our showroom as we expect a 100% increase in sales for the remainder of 2004. Alma Rocamora, General Sales Manager of Distribuidora Vinicola del Caribe, a major supplier to hotels in the Riviera Maya reports that the 1st Quarter has been superb. Even with the new rules issued by the government that have slowed supply, our sales have increased over the same time last year. In fact, we are expecting to double our sales for 2004 over 2003 and even more………demand is so high and we are simple growing to meet the demand.” Trackback(0)
