Here’s a quick update from our friend's at One Stop Real Estate, located on the corner of 5th Avenue and Constituyentes in the heart of Playa del Carmen.

Hello Friends and clients;
Yes, Playa del Carmen is still growing, both physically and in popularity, and it is still a worthy and smart investment for either vacation properties or permanent residences.....

 You will see city workers all over the streets. They have been putting new water lines and other much needed infrastructures across the highway in El Ejido. They have completely reconstructed Benito Juarez Avenue after installing new water and electrical lines. Currently they are repaving Benito Juarez and construction should be completed soon That is not the only place paving is being done. In addition there are many streets being paved across the highway and some repaving of some of the major thoroughfares   in the down town area of Playa del Carmen as well. Consequently we are experiencing some traffic congestion and will be until these projects are completed.  

There are some new trends in the real estate market here in Playa del Carmen with each real estate development becoming more luxurious and modern than the last. Many have private garages, storage rooms, exercise areas, and other amenities that just add value and convenience to any investment.  This trend in development is appealing to those of you who are not only looking for a vacation property but for retirement properties as well.

The new hospital on the high way next to Playacar is nearly completed, and will bring a new and more modern medical facility to our community. Thank you! There is an Office Depot being constructed on the highway close to Juarez which will join the big companies such as Wal-Mart and Mega Comercial to make our lives here a bit more convenient.

 Since Hurricane Wilma hit our shores in late October there are new groups of people discovering Playa del Carmen and they are liking it!  We have been receiving some cruse ships since Cozumel's docks were severely damaged in Hurricane Wilma. They anchor and ferry their guests to our shores, and although many of these people have been cruising the Caribbean more then once they have never  made the stop in Playa del Carmen until now.

They like what they see and they are looking for their little place in the sun. Also due to the extensive rebuilding happening in Cancun many winter travelers are coming to Playa del Carmen instead and they too enjoy the feel of our unique city.

Last, but certainly not least the Mayakoba project on the North end of town has just finished the Greg Norman golf course. Within days of the opening, the PGA tour announced it would come to Playa del Carmen in 2007. Almost immediately with this announcement we had inquiries from investors all over the USA.

 So are your investment dollars growing here in Playa del Carmen? Do you think you will be able to get good rental return? I think so!
