Adopt a pet in Playa del Carmen

 ADOPTED!

Adopt-a-Pet does work! Please pass along this information to a fellow animal lover.

Spring has sprung and with that has come many new litters of puppies all over Playa del Carmen. There are 18 dogs/pups as well as 1 kitty that are looking for permanent loving homes. If you know of ANYONE who is looking for a puppy, an adult dog, or a cool cat please pass along all of this information. When we work together we can make a difference!

Adopt an Angel in Playa del Carmen Angel: She was found on a construction site with her 5 4-week old puppies. She had Ehrlicheia (tick borne blood disease which can be fatal) and her treatment was toxic for her pups so they had to take them away from her. They all have homes except one little taupe colored guy named Tommy. He’s 7 weeks old now. The mom, Angel, also has TVT, the doggie STD so can’t live with any other dogs until her treatment is completed. She’s got a great foster home, but will need a permanent home soon. Her treatment will be done in about 3 weeks at which point she can live with other dogs. She’s a lovely, sweet dog; very smart, quiet and even-tempered. She learns very fast. She is trained to sleep on her own bed on the floor. She has also learned to not chase the neighbor’s 14 cats, so can possibly live with kitties. Please note that she’s had a broken jaw in the past and it healed badly leaving her unable to ever completely close her mouth. It makes a once physically beautiful girl less than perfect to the eye, but even more beautiful on the inside. She’s about 1 and a half years old.

Adopt Missy in Playa del Carmen Missy: Her and her 4 puppies are rescues from the Perrara. The woman who runs it, Sandra, asked to help her re-home the pups as she just couldn’t bring herself to put them down. Unfortunately she has no quarantine/adoption section so if she keeps pups for more than a week, they can become very ill. They are 4 very pretty little girls, around 10 to 12 weeks old. One even has those gorgeous green eyes that will get you every time. To date they’ve had their first of 2 de-worming treatments. Mom, a.k.a Missy, is very pretty, although a little thin still. She has beautiful almond shaped, light amber eyes, lined with dark "eye liner". She looks like a very delicate, feminine yellow lab. She’s got a very submissive personality, at least with people. She’s a bit dominant with other dogs, especially at mealtime. She, like Angel is about 1 and a half years old. She has no tvt, so thankfully, she can live with other dogs. She is being fostered for the time being, but needs a permanent home by July.

Adopt a pet in Playa del CarmenThere are 10 little pups on a construction site. (Is a theme emerging?) These little ones are 4 weeks old, too young to be taken from their mom, but in big trouble and not likely to survive much longer where they are. The construction workers have been lovely, feeding them and building a very minimalist shelter, but unfortunately, at 4 weeks the puppies have become very active and move around the site. There were 11 until one was inexplicably found crushed yesterday. As the other litter has proven, they can survive and thrive away from mom, but it will take a little extra care for a few weeks. Until they get homes, they will live in constant danger unless someone is willing to foster mom and pups for a couple of weeks, at which time mom, aka Canela, will be returned to her owners on the site. Another female dog has been found as well and is in need. She’s about 4 years old. She’s a smallish dog, dark colored with amber eyes. She has no TVT and is being treated for Ehrlicheia. Beautiful and shy boy needs a home.

Named Shorty by his rescuer this little guy is shy, but sweet and in need of a stable, quiet home. Although at first he seems a bit scared once he feels safe he is playful and sweet. Cutest kitten in the world needs a home ASAP.

Adopt a kitty in Playa del Carmen

This kitten is about 8 months old and is just the sweetest thing! She has the biggest greenest eyes you have ever seen. She has been hanging around outside a local’s window for the last month and does get fed, but needs a home to call her own. She has had an allergy to fleas therefore has fur missing and bad skin; however she was taken to the vet and treated and spayed. As her fur has grown in you can see what a beauty she is! She is nothing like a street cat and has now figured out how to open the door to the house that has been providing her food. She loves all people, and she is very well behaved. The vet took 5 skin samples and gave her 2 injections and she sat there purring! This kitten would make the perfect pet and needs a loving home.
